1969 BSA 441 Victor Special
One of the last years of the BSA B44 engine motorcycles. This bike was a very popular off-road choice for enduro riders in the late 60s, a factory desert sled, light and nimble with incredible handling.
RACING LEGEND jeff smith on a bsa victor
The BSA Victor special became prominent in racing when Jeff Smith won multiple championships with the bike. “Jeff Smith had just won his second successive world championship on the 441cc single-cylinder BSA Victor, and to cash in on its investment BSA introduced a street-scrambler version of the Victor. It was chunky, aggressive looking and had a shiny, polished aluminum gas tank with a sexy swash of yellow running across the tank. I wanted one so badly I could scream.” Article by Robert Smith
bsa Victor special history
In 1966 the Victor Enduro joined the range, displacing 441cc and a direct descendent of the works 420cc moto-cross engine. Detuned, with a lower compression ratio, and mounted in the C15T Trials bike frame, lights were added, powered by an alternator. Front forks were retained from the MXer, and held a 19” front wheel. The Enduro was renamed the Victor Special for 1969, but production of this dual sport model ceased in 1970.
